Advertising Guide

We encourage all stallholders to help advertise the market, the best ways you know how.

Below are some tips and tricks to get you on your way!

WORD OF MOUTH

If we create enough awareness of the market beforehand more people will attend, which equals more sales for us all. Tell as many people as you know, your family, friends, teachers, hairdresser, the florist etc. The best kind of advertising is word of mouth, and it’s free! It’s also handy to have a few flyers in your bag when out and about.

PUT UP A POSTER or HAND OUT FLYERS

Printing out a poster and popping it up in your part of town would be a great help to create awareness of the market. With our powers combined, I’m sure we can cover all different parts of Dunedin and Otago.

If you would like to pick up flyers or a poster for your shop / cafe / Uni etc, please let us know.

You can collect posters or flyers from the Red Cross Shop at 53 Bond St 9am-5pm Mon-Fri, Sat 10am-3pm. (These are ready for pick up).

IMPORTANT

*Please do not upload our event poster on your personal Facebook page, as it will damage our share and win comp.  If you’d like to share our poster on Facebook, please click the ‘SHARE’ button on the original poster found here on The Vintage Roundup FB page.

You are welcome to post to Instagram, since the market does not have an Instagram page.

***Our Poster on our facebook page reaches up to 20,000 people per market.  Our posters are printed and distributed around Dunedin by Phantom Billstickers. Posters are put up in surrounding towns by stallholders who are attending, E.g. Oamaru, Invercargill and Milton. Our Facebook event page typically has over 1000 ‘interested’ or ‘going’ per market. Our fliers are distributed to all our stallholders to hand out, are available at the market for customers and are placed in like minded shops around town.

Share & Win $40 Market Money Comp

Please enter our ‘Share & Win’ $40 Market Money competition pinned to the top of The Vintage Roundup Facebook Page. All stallholders are welcome to enter, although only logged in as your personal profile, not as your business page. (We still encourage you to share it on your business pages too. I just can’t draw a stallholders ‘business’ as a winner).

You can enter the comp here

JOIN our FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE

Make sure you have clicked ‘Going’ on our Facebook event page here

You will then get the updates and alerts for the event page and the event will pop up in your friends timeline, therefore creating a much wider reach. Also, please ‘Invite friends’ to the event page!

Feel free to post any sneak peeks and treasures you are bringing on the ‘Discussion’ page here

EMAIL ALL YOUR CONTACTS

Emailing the poster to all your email contacts (who maybe interested) and inviting them along to the event is also a great idea. Think of those who are not on facebook. We will also list the event on www.eventfinda.co.nz to share with those who are not on Facebook – please check back for the link soon.

ID DUNEDIN FASHION WEEK

This year we will once again be part of the ID Dunedin Fashion Week ‘Calendar of Events!’ This event brings many fashionista’s to town, so it’s always great for our market to land on this weekend every year.
The date will be Saturday 6th of April. Let’s start telling people now, so they can save up and if they are from out of town, book their accommodation and flights to Dunedin for the week/weekend!

PHANTOM BILLSTICKERS

We pay Phantom Billstickers for an extra advertising boost. We book a couple of  GIGANTIC posters as well as A3 sizes sprinkled around the central city and North Dunedin area.
